About the Event
We are very excited to welcome Lauren Adams, Ph. D. candidate with the Kelleher Research Group at Northwestern University. Lauren's department of focus is Molecular Biosciences. For the past five years, her research has focused on characterizing RAS proteins and their different molecular forms using a combination of mass spectrometry and complementary cellular and molecular biology techniques. The goal of her research is to relate different RAS chemical modifications with protein function. She also had the opportunity to collaborate with the National Cancer Institute’s RAS Initiative, and her research has been featured at numerous conferences, including the Third Annual RAS Initiative Conference. She will be discussing with us the History of the RAS Initiative, why it needed to be started, how important it is and what benefits come from it. She will also be providing a general understanding of what RAS is at the molecular/chemical level.
